I've come a long ways.
Not too long ago, I believed life as I knew it was pretty much set. I had no idea that I could actually determine the outcome and experience of my life simply by changing my thoughts and behaviors.
Growing up in circumstances that led me to be defensive, insecure (in so many ways), and small-minded, I approached life with a very limited (and might I add, negative) mindset.
Then, 2018 came along.
I discovered that my husband of over 23 years and father to my three children, was a drug addict.
My whole world turned upside down.
After filing for divorce and having him forcefully evicted from our home, I began to look inward like never before.
I had already been growing in my faith for over fifteen years, but I lacked the perspective and depth of wisdom about myself that I needed in order to claim my power as a child of God.
I poured myself into self help books, podcasts, and signed up for life coaching. I dug deeper into the word of God and made it part of my daily morning routine.
I put in the work.
I decided to walk away from my teaching career to pursue what I felt God was leading me into- using my words to guide, encourage, and inspire others.
A far cry from how I previously used my words. IYKYK.
In 2021, I launched The Something to Bless Podcast and several inspirational products. Type my name into Amazon and you'll see most of these things. Kinda cool!
This podcast is a way for me to share everything I've learned about what it takes to grow deeper in your faith and become the best version of yourself through a healthy mindset, good habits, and a life-long commitment to be all that God created you to be!
We're doing this together, friend.
You can find me every other Tuesday (with some bonus mini-episodes in between) anywhere podcasts appear.
Oh, and just so you know, my husband gave his life to God and is celebrating his 5th year of being drug and alcohol free! He devotes his time to serving others along their path of recovery through his social media (@livingxclean) and the rooms of AA and NA. Praise God!!!
I would LOVE to connect with each and every one of you! You can find me @barbaratguillen
